When we say this smoothie can be enjoyed anytime, we truly mean anytime. It's perfect as a brain boost in the morning or for a dose of stress and immune support day and night.

Chia seeds, cashews and medjool dates deliver healthy fats, fiber, and some natural sweetness. Plus, adding a scoop of optional but highly recommended protein powder (or collagen) brings all the goods together for a satiating, fuelling, "this-can't-possibly-be healthy-it-tastes-too-good" kind of smoothie.

A scoop of Defend Vanilla-Maca Superblend adds a delicious vanilla-caramelly flavor alongside adaptogens and antioxidant-rich herbs and mushrooms like Reishi, Lion's Mane, Ashwagandha and Maca. And when the mood strikes, we love to add a shot of espresso for added caffeine and deeper flavor.

Ingredients for this Vanilla Caramel Smoothie 

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp (20 g) cashews
  • 1 soft Medjool date, pitted
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • tiny pinch sea salt
  • 1 scoop (1.5 tsp) Defend Vanilla-Maca Superblend
  • Optional: collagen powder and/or protein powder*
  • handful of ice

Elevate your smoothie with optional ingredients

  • Optional: Add a shot of espresso, concentrated coffee or a coffee substitute for a touch of caffeine and/or coffee flavor

Additional notes

*If using protein powder, use plain or vanilla to maintain the vanilla flavor of the smoothie.

How to make a Vanilla Caramel Smoothie

  1. Add all ingredients (except toppings) to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.
  2. Pour into glass(es), optionally add toppings and enjoy!

Tips for storing smoothie leftovers

Refrigerate any leftovers for up to 24 hours. Alternatively, pour leftovers into an ice cube tray and use to make other smoothies.
