Our friend and recipe creator extraordinaire Sloane Elizabeth has done it again! These waffles were created with Valentine's Day in mind, but you know we're going to enjoy these year round.
We often associate waffles with the breakfast diner experience. Freshly made to order waffles topped sky high with fruit and whipped cream and drizzled with maple syrup. These are those, just elevated even higher with nourishing ingredients like our adaptogenic and stress-supporting Calm Functional Superblend. These gluten-free and grain-free waffles can be eaten as is (our Functional chocolate bars are hiding inside!) or topped with anything from fruit, maple syrup, more chocolate, coconut whipped cream....the possibilities are endless!
- ¼ cup cassava flour
- 2 tbsp coconut flour
- ⅔ cup water
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp JOYÀ Calm Functional Superblend
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1 bar of JOYÀ Chocolate (use more or less, to taste)
Preheat waffle iron.
Combine and mix all ingredients except the chocolate bar in a bowl.
Break up the chocolate bar into chunks and mix into batter.
Add batter to waffle iron, and cook according to waffle iron directions.
