Iced Lavender Cacao or Mocha

Iced Lavender Cacao or Mocha featuring JOYÀ's Cacao Elixir Blend

How about a trip to Southern France....for your taste buds? You know, those stunning purple lavender fields that bloom in endless fragrant rows? That's what we were aiming for when we created this Iced Lavender Cacao Latte (or Mocha!)

The unique taste and scent of lavender goes unexpectedly yet perfectly with Cacao. And while the scent (actually the essential oil) of lavender is best known to calm the nervous system, it also makes for the perfect pairing with the calming nature of Cacao, Reishi Mushroom and Mucuna Pruriens found in Calm Cacao Superblend.

Whether it's a calming cacao or a coffee-spiked mocha, this latte is perfect day or night. So make yourself a cup, sit back and relax.

Instructions

To make Lavender Simple Syrup:

  1. Add the water, honey or coconut sugar, and lavender to a small pot.

  2. Bring to a simmer, stirring just until the honey or coconut sugar has dissolved.

  3. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to steep for about 30 minutes.

  4. Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a jar to remove the lavender and let the syrup cool. Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

To make Iced Lavender Cacao or Mocha:

  1. In a large glass, blend the Calm Cacao Superblend, milk, lavender syrup and coffee (if making a mocha) with a handheld frother until combined (alternatively, blend in an upright blender).

  2. Pour over ice and enjoy!
