Pistachio Protein Matcha Smoothie or Smoothie Bowl

This is the ultimate productivity smoothie. It’ll fuel your brain for the workday, power your workout, or help promote recovery after a good sweat sesh. With the perfect balance of protein, healthy fats, functional herbs + shrooms and a touch of natural sweetness, this nutrient-rich blend is the Swiss army pocket knife of smoothies. Don’t forget your choice of smoothie or smoothie bowl toppings. Not only do they add flavor and texture – they also ensure you “chew your smoothie” for better digestion!
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp shelled pistachios*
- ¾ cup coconut milk or other milk of choice (*use less milk for a thicker smoothie bowl)
- ½ large banana (or 1 small), cut into 1” slices and frozen
- ⅓ small avocado (~¼ cup), peeled + pitted
- 1 serving (1.5 tsp) JOYÀ Focus Matcha Superblend
- ½ tbsp hemp seeds OR 1 scoop plain/vanilla protein powder
- ½ cup crushed ice
- optional: collagen powder
- optional toppings: cacao nibs, bee pollen, chopped nuts, seeds, dried coconut flakes, granola, fruit
Notes* Pistachios can be omitted or subbed with cashews.
How to
- In a small bowl, soak the pistachios in hot water while preparing the rest of your ingredients. Drain.
- Add all ingredients (except toppings) in the order listed to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and no chunks remain.
- Pour into a glass (or bowl for a smoothie bowl), optionally add toppings and enjoy!
