Berry Nut Butter Beauty Smoothie or Smoothie Bowl

(Defend Superblend)

Serves 1 • Paleo / Vegan + Dairy-free optional / Caffeine-free

This smoothie is a beauty on so many levels. Berries, cacao and the botanical blend in Defend Superblend deliver a bounty of antioxidants. Avocado and nut butter add creaminess and healthy fats. And collagen, should you choose to use it, brings additional support for skin health. 

But it doesn’t stop there. With powerful adaptogens to fight stress, reduce inflammation and promote recovery, and an optional scoop of protein powder, this delicious blend also makes the perfect post-workout smoothie to help promote recovery so that you can do it all again and again.   • ½ large banana (or 1 small), cut into 1” slices and frozen
  • ⅓ cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • ¼ large peeled + pitted avocado (~⅓ cup)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (*use less milk for a thicker smoothie bowl)
  • 1 tsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 serving (1.5 tsp) JOYÀ Defend Vanilla-Maca Superblend
  • 2 tbsp nut butter of choice
  • optional: collagen powder, protein powder (plain, chocolate or vanilla)
  • ½ cup crushed ice
  • optional toppings: hemp seeds, cacao nibs, bee pollen, chopped nuts, seeds, dried coconut flakes, granola, berries

How to

  1. Add all ingredients (except toppings) in the order listed to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and no chunks remain. 
  2. Pour into a glass (or bowl for a smoothie bowl), optionally add toppings and enjoy!
