Matcha Mint Chip Smoothie or Smoothie Bowl

(Focus Superblend)

Serves 1 • Paleo / Vegan optional / Dairy-free optional

This is the perfect smoothie to power your brain for the workday or your body for a workout. Chia seeds, banana and greens pack this smoothie with healthy omega-3 fats, fiber, protein, vitamins + minerals, and natural sweetness to keep you fueled and satiated. The Focus Superblend brings that vibrant matcha-green color, along with brain-boosting, stress-fighting, immune-balancing and energizing goodness. And finally, some mint and cacao nibs layer in that texture and flavor reminiscent of the classic, mint chip ice cream. 

Prefer to enjoy it as a smoothie bowl? Use less milk for a thicker consistency, and go wild with your choice of toppings!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup milk of choice (*use less milk for a thicker smoothie bowl)
  • ½ large banana (or 1 small), cut into 1” slices and frozen
  • 6-8 large mint leaves (or 3 drops peppermint extract)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 serving (1.5 tsp) JOYÀ Focus Matcha Superblend
  • optional: collagen powder, plain or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 cup baby spinach, packed
  • ½ cup crushed ice
  • 1 ½ tbsp raw cacao nibs
  • optional toppings: hemp seeds, cacao nibs, bee pollen, chopped nuts, seeds, dried coconut flakes, granola, fruit

How to

  1. Add all ingredients (except cacao nibs and toppings) in the order listed to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and no chunks remain. 
  2. Add cacao nibs and blend for another 5 seconds, until they’re pulverized but little bits remain.
  3. Pour into a glass (or bowl for a smoothie bowl), optionally add toppings and enjoy!
